Striker could be facing up to two months on the sidelines

Bayern Munich have revealed that striker Miroslav Klose is facing up to eight weeks out of action after undergoing surgery on his ankle injury. It was initially feared that the 30-year-old was set to be sidelined for one month after sustaining the problem in the weekend win over Bochum. However, that diagnosis has now been doubled and the Germany international has been ruled out of both legs of Bayern's UEFA Champions League quarter-final. Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness told Sueddeutsche on Monday: "He is going to have an operation this afternoon and what does that mean? Well, that he will be out for six to eight weeks." Klose will also miss Germany's forthcoming World Cup 2010 qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Wales.
