Skipper annoyed with boo boys

Werder Bremen captain Torsten Frings has hit out at fans who booed Tim Borowski in the game against Mainz. Bremen defeated their Bundesliga rivals 3-0 at the Weserstadion but some sections of the crowd were disappointed by Borowski's performance. "This is absurd, he is an important player of the team and he is helping me a lot in defending aspects of midfield," Frings told Kreiszeitung Syke. "Those people do not recognise that. He is doing a lot of work and does a lot to help in distributing balls. "He does the best for the team. We have a lot of players doing the fuzz up front, we need players like him to keep our cool at the back. "Of course, if he can improve the going forward attitude in his game, he will be even more valuable for us." Borowski, who returned to the club after a year at Bayern Munich, said: "I would lie if I say I am very happy about it. "But I would do so, too, if I say I am on top of my game. I know I can do better."
