Norway international signs four-year deal with German club

Schalke have finalised a deal to sign Tromso defender Tore Reginiussen on a four-year contract. The 23-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for some time with Everton and Fulham most recently interested. The Norway international was close to joining Blackburn on trial last season but the move collapsed after Paul Ince was sacked as manager. But now Reginiussen has finally landed his big move, although the centre-back, who can also play in midfield, admits he will take some time to settle in the Bundesliga. "I am counting on that I need the first half of the year just to get in order down here," he told Nettavisen. "They are in the middle of the season and are fighting at the top, and they told me that I will be given time to get used to the tempo and the conditions down there.

Bundesliga level

"It is a bit different playing in front of 61,000 spectators. But from the summer on I am going to be on a Bundesliga level." Reginiussen is currently sidelined through injury but expects to be fit enough to join up with the team on their winter training camp in Spain in January. "I am counting on being back and playing," he added. Despite the reported interest from England, Reginiussen insists joining Schalke was not a difficult decision. "I couldn't turn them down," he highlighted. "Everything is perfect from a sports perspective. It's just for me. (I want) to get there, practice with good players that can help me be a better player."
