Danish midfielder set to leave in summer

Daniel Jensen looks set to leave Werder Bremen at the end of the season but would be prepared to stay in Germany. The midfielder's contract expires in the summer and he has not yet been offered a new deal. He does not feel he has a long-term future at the club after falling down the pecking order this season and accepts it is now time to start exploring other options. Jensen has no plans to return to his native Denmark as he would prefer to ply his trade in one of Europe's top leagues. Having enhanced his reputation over the past few seasons in the Bundesliga, Jensen could attract interest from other German clubs. "They haven't made any offer and it is obvious that I will have to look at other possibilities soon," the 31-year-old told Sporten.dk. "Certainly, I want to stay abroad and I don't rule out staying in Germany."
