Hoffenheim defender Andreas Beck is not in any hurry to discuss a contract extension after his failed move to Juventus.
The Germany international, who has been his club's captain over recent seasons, was close to a switch to Italy but Juventus were put off by Hoffenheim's valuation of the 24-year-old.
Beck now looks set to stay put, but he has not yet opened talks regarding an extension to the 12 months remaining on his current contract.
He told Deutsche Presseagentur: "A new deal can become a topic for me tomorrow or some day in the future, if we need to pick up negotiations.
"In the last few weeks we did not have any conversation about that.
"I am still optimistic we could find a solution if everyone is willing to find an agreement, though.
"If I had received a very good offer to extend my deal at Hoffenheim 1899, then I would have signed on."
Beck added: "I think we will be back at the table if the next few weeks see a good club enquiring about my services. We then would need to sort that out for sure.
"I am not deceiving anybody. My prime mission is to further develop as a player."
