Hannover have lost all seven of their away matches in the Bundesliga this season, but their impressive home form leaves them six points above the relegation zone after 15 games.
The loss to Stuttgart has put some pressure on Slomka, but victory against winless Nurnberg on Saturday could ease that.
And Hannover's sporting director Dufner is happy to back the man who has been in charge since 2010.
He told Sky Deutschland: "Mirko has been here for four years. He has had great success and been a great servant to Hannover 96. Therefore, he has our full support.
"Of course, we must perform at a certain level in the Bundesliga. Mirko knows that, we know that. That's why I'm always asked about how secure his job is.
"We have always said we do not discuss the position of the manager."
