The Royal Blues were already 3-1 up from the first leg of their semi-final tie in Denmark last week, but made the margin of victory even more emphatic in Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday.
Mike Hanke (pictured) gave the hosts the lead after just 11 minute when the German Under-21 international headed in a Mladen Krstajic cross to put the tie out of reach of the Danes.
Turkish midfielder Hamit Altintop made it 2-0 on the night when he fired in a powerful effort on 54 minutes, and Gerald Asamoah sealed a comfortable 3-0 win just after the hour mark.
Their comprehensive 6-1 victory puts Schalke into a final of the InterToto Cup, where they will face either Slovan Liberec or Nantes, who face each other on Wednesday in France, with the Czech Republic side 1-0 ahead from the first leg.
Schalke secured a Uefa Cup birth with InterToto victory last term and will be looking for a repeat success to put them in European competition this coming season.
