Hannover's Steve Cherundolo has denied reports that said he was set to join Schalke.Hannover's US international Steve Cherundolo has denied reports in the German press that stated he will join Bundesliga rivals Schalke 04 next summer.
Sunday paper BamS reported that the 25-year-old midfielder, who will be a free agent in July, had agreed terms with the big-spending Royal-Blues, where ex-Hannover boss Ralf Rangnick is now in charge.
Cherundolo has poured cold water on the claims, saying he is only in talks with Hannover about extending his stay with the 96ers.
"I am not in contact with Schalke and my advisor is currently only talking to Hannover about a possible contract extension," Cherundolo told Kicker.
The midfielder has been in fine form recently and opened his Bundesliga scoring account on Saturday when on target as the 96ers emerged as 2-0 away winners over Borussia Monchengladbach.
