Owomoyela has agreed a summer move to Bremen.
German international Patrick Owomoyela has become the second player to agree to join Bundesliga champions Werder Bremen in the summer.
Bremen had to beat off tough competition from the likes of Schalke, Hertha Berlin and Hamburg to snap up the powerful right back, and it is believed that Bremen will pay Arminia Bielefeld around é¼2.5 million for his services.
Werder's director of sport Klaus Allofs was quick to express his delight regarding their capture: "We have settled the last details and Patrick has signed a four-year contract. We are very happy that from July onwards, he will strengthen our team."
The 25 year-old Owomoyela started his career with unfashionable Luneburger SK, but he managed to seal his national breakthrough last season when he played a vital role as Bielefeld sealed promotion to the Bundesliga.
Owomoyela will follow Kaiserslautern's highly-rated keeper Tim Wiese to the Weserstadion, and more signings will be expected as Bremen look for a swift return to the pinnacle of the German Bundesliga.
