Hannover have signed Schalke youngster Michael Delura on a two-year loan deal.Hannover have signed Schalke youngster Michael Delura on a two-year loan deal from next season.
The German Under-21 international striker has had limited chances to shine in Gelsenkirchen this season.
He has fallen behind Ailton, Ebbe Sand, Gerald Asamoah and Mike Hanke in coach Ralf Rangnick's pecking order and is now looking to give his career a boost at the AWD Arena.
"I think this is the best move for me at this point as I'll have a much greater chance of playing in Hannover," said Delura.
Hannover coach Ewald Lienen will now hope that the summer arrival of the talented 19-year-old can solve the club's goalscoring problems that have seen them drop dramatically down the table in the second half of the current season.
The teenage striker signed a new contract until 2008 at the ArenaAufSchalke but, given the lack of regular match action, has concurred on the summer switch to the 96ers.
Delura, who has scored four goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances, was initially keen to leave Schalke and sign a permanent deal elsewhere.
But Rangnick vetoed such a move and insisted that the talented youngster, whose previous deal was not due to expire before 2006, signed a two-year extension.
Schalke will now hope that the pacey striker seals his Bundesliga breakthrough in Hannover before returning to Gelsenkirchen in 2007 as a finished player.
