Bayern extended their lead to seven points at the top of Die Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich extended their lead to seven points at the top of Die Bundesliga after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Westfalen Stadion and Kaiserslautern recorded their first win since the end of August.
Bayern took the lead through Ali Karimi (52) before Claudio Pizarro (72) doubled the lead. Dortmund pulled one back through Florian Kringe (81) but were reduced to ten men with a minute to go after Kosi Saka was sent off for deliberate handball, and Bayern held on for the three points.
Halil Altintop netted a hat-trick (45,61,83) to give Kaiserslautern their first win since August 27 after a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg. Diego Klimowicz (47) and Mike Hanke (54) grabbed the goals for the visitors.
Arminia Bielefeld came from behind to record their first win in six against Cologne. Christian Springer (1) got Cologne off to a flying start with his first goal of the season but Bielefeld struck three in six minutes through David Kobylik (52) and Michael Fink (54,60). Matthias Scherz (72) made it 3-2 but Cologne could not find an equaliser.
Borussia Monchengladbach got the better of Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 in a seven-goal classic. Uruguayan midfielder Francisco Copado scored twice in the first half (16,21) to put Frankfurt two up but Marcell Jansen (44) got one back for Monchengladbach just before half time.
Three goals in 10 minutes through Oliver Neuville (77,82) and Vaclav Sverkos (87) put Monchengladbach 4-2 ahead before Christian Chris (90) struck for Frankfurt.
Mainz and Duisburg shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw. Antonio da Silva (27) put Mainz ahead but Uwe Mohrle (85) got a late equaliser for Duisburg.
Stuttgart beat Schalke 2-0 but stay in seventh place thanks to second-half goals from Mario Gomez (47) and Danijel Ljuboja (64). Zlatan Bajramovic (76) got his marching orders after receiving his second booking for Schalke.
Bayer Leverkusen and Hannover played out a goalless draw which extended Hannover's unbeaten run to six.
