Bundesliga round-up

Schalke missed the chance to go top of the Bundesliga after a 0-0 draw at Nurnberg.

Schalke missed the chance to go top of the Bundesliga after a goalless draw at Nurnberg on Sunday.

The Royal Blues would have leapfrogged Werder Bremen with a win at the Frankenstadion in Nuremberg.

However, the Gelsenkirchen club had to settle a share of the spoils with their Bavarian hosts.

In Sunday's other Bundesliga game, a hat-trick from Japan international Naohiro Takahara gave Eintracht Frankfurt a 3-2 victory at Alemannia Aachen.

Takahara opened the scoring on 14 minutes at the Tivoli Stadion before Jan Schlaudraff replied for Aachen on 32 minutes.

Takahara restored Eintracht's lead just before half-time before completing his hat-trick just after the hour mark.

Cristian Fiel scored a second goal for Aachen with nine minutes remaining, but Frankfurt held on for the victory in western Germany.
