Bundesliga leaders Schalke dropped their first points for seven games as they threw away a two-goal lead at Wolfsburg.
Two first half goals from Kevin Kuranyi (11 & 29) looked to have set Schalke on their way to victory - but Wolfsburg had other ideas.
Diego Klimowicz reduced the arrears just before the hour and then in the final minute Marcel Marcelinho struck to give them a draw.
Hamburg climbed off the bottom of the table with a stunning 2-0 win at third placed Werder Bremen. A goal in each half from Dutch ace Rafael van der Vaart (42 pen & 87) gave Hamburg all three points.
Bayern Munich missed the chance to close on Werder as they went down to a 1-0 defeat at Alemannia Aacehn with Alexander Klitzpera's tenth minute goal proving vital.
Hannover secured a 1-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen - who they now leap-frog into seventh. The only goal came seven minutes in when Jan Rosenthal pounced.
Borussia Dortmund won their derby clash with Borussia Monchengladbach at the Signal-Iduna Park with Alexander Frei's (18) first half goal proving enough.
Mainz moved into mid-table after a 2-1 win sixth placed Hertha Berlin. Pal Dardai put the capital outfit ahead on 22 minutes, but second half goals from Mohamed Zidan (54 pen) and Leon Andreasen (64) gave Mainz a shock win.
