Swiss star considering options

Tranquillio Barnetta looks set to stay in Germany's Bundesliga, his agent has confirmed to Sky Sports. The 27-year-old winger is a free agent after leaving Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer, ending an eight-year spell with the club. A host of teams from around Europe have been tracking his situation but he looks set to remain in German, with Schalke reportedly favourites to land him. "There is a lot of interest in Germany and it seems likely he will remain there," Franco Moretti told Sky Sports. Newcastle United were strongly linked last year and he has long been mooted with a move to England. And Moretti admits he has been approached by Premier League clubs. "Two or three clubs from England have called, but that is it just phone calls," he continued. "We are talking with the clubs in Germany and would expect a decision in the next ten days."
