With Ottmar Hitzfeld's side currently languishing nine points behind league leaders Werder Bremen, talk has been rife that the Bundesliga giants will be moving for Werder Bremen's midfield playmaker Johan Micoud and Borussia Dortmund's Brazilian full back Dede in the summer.
However, Beckenbauer is in favour of promotion from within and regards the club's academy as being full of talent.
''Our squad is big enough, but what we should do is look at our youth department, where there is plenty of quality,'' Beckenbauer told Kicker.
The Kaiser is hopeful that Bastin Schweinsteiger and Piotr Trochowski will be ready to establish themselves next season, following the example of Owen Hargreaves and Samuel Kuffour, who were both products of the club's youth system.
One man who has temporarily escaped the Bayern net is Philipp Lahm, currently on loan to Stuttgart until 2005.
With French full back Bixente Lizarazu out of form, Beckenbauer is ruing the decision to allow the talented 20-year-old to leave the club.
Lahm has proved a revelation this term in both Die Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League and is now set to be recognised by the Germany national side for his assured performances, with a debut cap.
With Dortmund's Dede previously earmarked for a summer move to the Olympic Stadium, Beckenbauer believes that the club already have a ready-made replacement for Lizarazu, in the form of Lahm.
''We must get Lahm back as soon as possible,'' pleaded Beckenbauer.
