Andreas Reinke has inked a new one year contract extension with Werder Bremen.Andreas Reinke has inked a new one-year contract extension with Werder Bremen.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper will be staying at the Weserstadion until 2006, after a series of impressive displays this term earned him a new deal.
The former Kaiserslautern favourite moved to Germany from Spanish outfit Murcia in 2003 and has proved a key player under Thomas Schaaf's tenure.
Werder sport director Klaus Allofs has spoken of his delight at Reinke's decision but also conceded that the club would still be looking to recruit another keeper.
"Andi will be playing for us next season," Allofs told Syker Kreiszeitung. "We are very satisfied with him.
"But we want to see more competition for places and that includes between the posts.
"If we think there is not enough pressure coming from the number two then we will react accordingly."
Karlsruhe youngster Markus Miller is one such keeper who is thought to have caught Schaaf's attention.
