Stuttgart are planning a renewed attempt to sign Strasbourg midfielder Alexander Farnerud.
The Swede appears primed to leave Strasbourg during the summer, following the club's relegation from Ligue 1.
He has expressed a desire for a transfer and German outfit Stuttgart are hoping to fulfil Farnerud's wish.
Reports suggest Stuttgart are willing to pay é¼2.5 million (£1.7 million) for Farnerud, who turns 22 on Wednesday.
Farnerud was wanted by the Bundesliga side last summer and 12 months on a deal now looks likely to be agreed.
The midfielder joined Strasbourg in January 2004 from Landskrona and he has become an integral member of the team.
