Milik, who has been favourably compared to his compatriot Robert Lewandowski, has been making a name for himself at Gornik Zabrze and has been linked with a string of clubs across Europe.
Premier League duo Aston Villa and Everton are reportedly monitoring the 18-year-old, while Lyon, Inter Milan, Udinese and Anderlecht are also rumoured to be keen.
Stuttgart are eager to bring Milik to the Bundesliga, but the club's general manager Bobic acknowledged there is a fierce battle to land the forward.
"Of course, the race is on," Bobic told Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper. "It's a fact we have been very busy in this affair thus far.
"Still, it will not be an easy job to complete this transfer. It will even be not that easy to complete this transfer this winter."
Milik, who recently made his senior debut for Poland, is under contract at Gornik until 2016 and is reportedly valued in the £3.5million category.
