Two goals within the first ten minutes from German international Michael Ballack effectively killed off the contest as Bayern raced out of the traps.
The midfielder opened the scoring after just three minutes, and doubled the lead from the penalty spot seven minutes later.
Kaiserslautern regrouped, but were killed off five minutes after the interval when Peruvian hit-man Claudio Pizarro netted the Bavarians' third.
Things got even worse for The Red Devils twelve minutes from time when Marian Hristov was dismissed, though they did manage to pull back a consolation two minutes later through Miroslav Klose.
The win confirms Bayern's dominance in the domestic game, with Ottmar Hitzfeld's men already having clinched the Bundesliga title by some 16 points.
