Bayern Munich beat Wolfsburg 2-0 to move to within a point of the leaders.Bayern Munich moved to within a point of the Bundesliga summit after beating leaders Wolfsburg 2-0 at the Olympic Stadium.
Wolfsburg travelled to Bavaria looking to enhance their fine start to the season but they were undone by a Claudio Pizarro double.
The opening goal from the striker arrived on 24 minutes and Pizarro put the game to bed with his second on the stroke of half time.
Kaiserslautern remain bottom of the table after they crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Hannover, despite taking the lead.
Ioannis Amanatidis put the visitors ahead on 26 minutes but Hannover were level through former Manchester City defender Michael Tarnat seven minutes later.
Jiri Stajner turned the game in Hannover's favour with a goal on 65 minutes and he wrapped up the success four minutes from the finish.
Struggling Bochum boosted their morale with a much-needed triumph at home to ten man Borussia Monchengladbach.
Christoph Preuss put Bochum ahead on 54 minutes before Jeff Strasser was dismissed for the away side for a second yellow card just before the hour mark.
Bochum extinguished any hope the visitors had of snaring a point in the 85th minutes when Dariusz Wosz scored for the hosts, before Peter Madsen netted a third in injury time.
Jan Koller's goal a minute before the interval was sufficient to earn Borussia Dortmund a priceless victory at Hertha Berlin.
