Bayern Munich's Sebastian Schweinsteiger has signed a new two-year deal.Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have been handed a boost with the news that Germany international Sebastian Schweinsteiger has committed himself to the club for a further two years.
The 20-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on an extended contract on Friday and will now remain with the German double winners until June 2009.
Schweinsteiger joined Bayern from local Bavarian outfit Rosenheim in 1998 and made swift progress through the club's junior and amateur teams before being blooded in the first team under former boss Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Despite being out of favour at the start of last season, Schweinsteiger has been a prominent figure in Bayern's success this year, leading coach Felix Magath to describe him as one of the "greatest positive surprises" of his first year in charge.
