Brazil international set to stay with Schalke

Schalke full-back Rafinha will not be leaving the club this summer, according to the player's agent. The 24-year-old Brazilian has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga outfit after a successful campaign last term, with Hamburg a name in the frame. Rafinha's displays from right-back fired Schalke to second place in the German top-flight, and his agent Naor Malaquias claims he will see out his contract to at least June 2011. "I am not aware why (Schalke manager) Felix Magath says that Rafinha would be out to leave," he told Bild. "He played 30 matches (last season), Schalke became second of the league because Rafinha added great displays. "He would not have played as much if his performances had been that bad. The fact is that he has one year left on his contract and will be staying on. "He has always wanted to play UEFA Champions League to keep in contention for the Brazil squads. "At this point in time there are just enquiries from Italy and Hamburger SV. If there is not a big offer coming in, he is not going to move on."
