Bayer hopeful over Ramelow's fitness

Bayer Leverkusen are optimistic that midfielder Carsten Ramelow will be available for the important away game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The German international missed the 3-0 home defeat to France after undergoing minor knee surgery the previous week, but he has returned to training with Bayer.

"If things go well, Carsten will be fit to play in Dortmund," declared Bayer physio Dieter Trzolek.

While Leverkusen trail Bundesliga leaders Stuttgart by only one point, Dortmund must beat Klaus Augenthaler's side in order to stand a chance to close the gap on the four teams ahead of them.
