Bayer Leverkusen's Clemens Fritz will be out of action until the New Year.Bayer Leverkusen have been dealt a massive blow with the news that midfielder Clemens Fritz will be out of action until the New Year.
The talented 23-year-old has been on the sidelines for the whole of the current season after breaking a fibula in a pre-season friendly against Dresden.
Fritz underwent surgery in the summer, but the club have now revealed that the injury has not healed as hoped and that now another operation is necessary.
Fritz broke into Bayer's first team last season making 14 Bundesliga appearances and looked certain to cement a regular berth at the BayArena this term.
Leverkusen coach Klaus Augenthaler (pictured) could also be without Poland international midfielder Jacek Krzynowek and Brazilian defender Juan for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Dortmund after the pair picked up knock in the 3-2 win against Bielefeld on Wednesday.
