Bayer Leverkusen have loaned striker Jermaine Jones to Eintracht Frankfurt.Bayer Leverkusen have loaned former Germany Under-21 striker Jermaine Jones to promotion-chasing Bundesliga II outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
The young forward, whose contract with Leverkusen does not expire until 2007, will spend the remainder of the season with the Eagles before returning to the BayArena.
"I am very happy and keen on the new challenges ahead. I want to help Frankfurt to win promotion," declared the 23-year-old, who left Frankfurt for Leverkusen only in July 2004.
Given tough competition from the likes of Andrej Voronin, Dimitar Berbatov, Franca and Paul Freier, Jones saw his chances for regular first-team action blocked and decided to get his career on track again by returning to his old club.
Frankfurt chairman Heribert Bruchhagen is confident that their new signing will help his club to close the nine-point gap to leading trio Cologne, Furth and Duisburg.
"We haven't given up yet and with Jones' energy we want to stay on the trail of the leading clubs," declared Bruchhagen.
