Last week the gifted midfielder was stopped for speeding through the German capital and a test taken by the police indicated that he might have consumed the drug.
Speculation in the German press about Marx's private life suggested that he struggled to come to terms with his new-found fame.
However, more stringent tests carried out in one of Germany's leading laboratories on behalf of the club, found the youngster innocent.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder, who broke into Hertha's first-team midway through last season, responded well to the criticism and scored his second Bundesliga goal in his side's 3-0 win at Nurnberg.
