Hertha went 2-0 up when Nando Rafael pounced on 37 minutes and Aleksander Knavs put through his own net on the stroke of half time.
Klose then got in on the act and brought his side level with two goals in 20 minutes.
The first came after 47 minutes when he latched onto a corner from Mika Nurmela.
Klose then claimed his second when he took advantage of an error from Niko Kovac before hammering home from eight yards.
The home side then grabbed the lead with 13 minutes left when Bill Tchato raced on to Marian Hristov's through ball before finishing past Gabor Kiraly.
Klose completed his hat-trick with ten minutes left after good work from Lincoln down the flank.
Freiburg moved eighth with a 1-0 win over second-bottom Eintracht Frankfurt at The Dreisamstadion.
The only goal of the game came with nine minutes left through Wilfired Sanou, but it was only after an almighty error from Eintracht goalkeeper Oka Nikolov who let the ball slip through his grasp.
