Ilhan impatient with Hertha

Fallen Turkish star Ilhan Mansiz said he's eager to join a new club.

Fallen Turkish star Ilhan Mansiz has said he is eager to prepare for the new season with a new club, after differences led to the termination of his contract with Hertha Berlin.

Ilhan had shone for Turkey in the 2002 World Cup but never managed to sustain his form due to a string of injuries and a money-making transfer to FC Kobe in Japan.

"We were going to talk at the end of August but what if we couldn't agree on something? I would have no time," the Turkish bad boy said after a meeting with general manager Dieter Hoeness.

"I showed what I can do in training and now I can't wait any longer.

"I've emptied my house in Berlin and I'm going to Munich. I'm going to wait for offers to come.

"It's time that I started playing football again."

Hoeness said that their previous agreement with Ilhan was to hold talks later in the summer after seeing his fitness levels.

"Ilhan unexpectedly told us he can't wait any longer," said the Hertha official.

"We were disappointed to hear him say that."
