Hoeness fumes at Marcelinho

Hertha Berlin's Marcelinho has failed to return to Germany for the start of training.

Hertha Berlin general manager Dieter Hoeness has slammed Brazilian playmaker Marcelinho for failing to return to Germany for the start of training.

It is not the first time the temperamental midfielder has failed to arrive back in Germany punctually and Hoeness has made it clear that his behaviour will have consequences.

"I've had enough of his antics," he fumed.

"But I can no longer be bothered to get too worked up over him. We will punish him severely and that will prove very expensive for his pocket.

"He is simply acting against the interests of the club and we will not tolerate that any longer."

Marcelinho apparently contacted his employer saying that he had arrived late at the airport in Brazil due to heavy traffic, but Hoeness is unimpressed by his excuse.

He added: "All we can do is to book his flights, but he has to travel himself."
