Hertha Berlin's joy at topping the Bundesliga table has been tempered by injury.
Hertha Berlin's joy at topping the Bundesliga table has been tempered by a double injury blow to two top players.
The capital city club will be without Turkish international Yildiray Basturk for three weeks and Brazilian star Gilberto for eight weeks after both picked up injuries against Schalke on Sunday.
MRI scans on the pair on Monday revealed the extent of the injuries with Gilberto suffering torn ankle and Basturk torn knee ligaments.
The news comes as a major blow to Hertha coach Falko Gotz just hours after guiding the 'Old Lady' to the top of the table for the first time since December 2000.
