Hertha Berlin have confirmed that they will be offering young striker Ashkan Dejagah a new contract.
The 20-year-old is one of a number of new faces to make their mark in coach Falko Gotz's team this season and the capital city outfit are keen to tie him down for the next few years.
"Ashkan's future lies in Berlin. He knows that we want to keep him," general manager Dieter Hoeness revealed after Dejagah notched up his first Bundesliga goal in Saturday's win over Alemannia Aachen.
Gotz was also quick to praise the forward's recent progress, saying: "He had already had a couple of attempts at establishing himself in the first team, but it didn't quite work out.
"He used to try to do things that were too complicated and thought that it would be easier to tie down a berth in the squad.
"Now Ashkan is really showing what he can do and is getting more and more confident with every game."
