An own goal from Mathieu Delpierre compounded what has been a poor start of the season for Hoffenheim, but Fabian Johnson replied immediately at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.
Late goals from Sejad Salihovic and Daniel Williams then gave Hoffenheim some long-awaited joy as they moved off the foot of the table with their first three points of the season.

Kevin de Bruyne and Zlatko Junuzovic established a two-goal advantage for the home team before half-time, but Stuttgart never gave up and recovered with goals from Martin Harnik and Cacau.
Harnik was then shown a second yellow card, soon to be followed down the tunnel by Assani Lukimya after he saw red late on.
Finally, Andre Schurrle missed a penalty as
Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw by
Borussia Monchengladbach at the BayArena.
In the battle of two of Germany's Europa League participants, both of whom drew 0-0 last Thursday, Leverkusen did everything but score more than their opponents, who collapsed after taking an early lead through Patrick Hermann.
Michal Kadlec soon levelled for Leverkusen but they were unable to find a winner in almost 80 minutes of a one-sided game, including Schurrle's penalty miss in the 70th minute.
