Hamburg's Khalid Boulahrouz and Guy Demel have signed contracts until June 2010.
Defenders Khalid Boulahrouz and Guy Demel have committed themselves to Hamburg for the next four years.
Rumours of a raid on Hamburg's key men had been rife, following their tremendous push for the Bundesliga title this season.
And though Bayern Munich now only need two points from their last two league games to retain the title, a second-place finish for Thomas Doll's side would still be regarded as a successful season.
The club's director of sport Dietmar Beiersdorfer has praised the players for signing contracts, which will keep them at the AOL Arena until June 2010.
"We are all extremely delighted that both Khalid and Guy will be staying with us long term. Both have proven their class in the recent past," he said.
Dutch international Boulahrouz has formed a strong central defensive partnership with Daniel van Buyten in their time together.
And despite press speculation that he has been targeted by Barcelona, the 24-year-old says he is happy to stay in Germany.
"I feel really at home at this club," he commented. "We have got a great team, a great coach and a first class environment.
"I think we still have an awful lot that we can achieve and we want to stay together to reach our goals."
Hamburg will have to win their last two league games against Hertha Berlin at home and Werder Bremen away if they are to stand any chance of lifting the Bundesliga title.
