Frankfurt captain interesting Bundesliga rival

Patrick Ochs' agent has confirmed that Bundesliga rivals Schalke are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt's captain. Reports have speculated that Schalke could move for Ochs before the transfer window closes and they are looking to do a deal. Ochs' agent Gunther Neuhaus does not believe there is much time to reach an accord, but he is not ruling out the possibility of finalising an arrangement. "There's interest in the services of Patrick Ochs from Schalke, this is what I'm able to confirm," he told Hessischer Rundfunk. "There is not much time left to turn this into a transfer, but it's a possibility. "As far as I am concerned Schalke have yet to get in touch with Eintracht Frankfurt about that."

Bitter blow

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Michael Skibbe has no plans to lose the 26-year-old who previously played for Bayern Munich's reserves. "Basically, I have no intention to see Patrick Ochs leave," explained Skibbe. "The truth is that losing Patrick Ochs would be a very bitter blow." Even if Ochs sees out the campaign with Frankfurt he could eventually move on in the summer if a £2.5million bid is lodged which activates his release clause.
