The Dortmund outfit are far from happy with 30-year-old Lehmann`s form and, after failing to lure Werder Bremen`s Frank Rost, have turned their attention to Kaiserslautern custodian Koch (pictured).
Koch is said to be keen to move after The Red Devils failed to attain a European place for next season.
The keeper is also concerned that his present club are prepared to sell talented players such as Marco Reich and other squad members, namely Youri Djorkaeff and Jorgen Petterson, have expressed a desire to leave.
Koch is contracted to Kaiserslautern until 2003, but they may be prepared to sell if second choice Roman Weidenfeller continues to progress at his current rate.
