Borussia Dortmund say they have given up trying to sign Marcelinho.
Borussia Dortmund say they have given up trying to bring Brazilian midfielder Marcelinho back to the Bundesliga.
The Trabzonspor playmaker played under current BVB boss Jurgen Rober at Hertha Berlin, but Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says that the player is unlikely to be reunited with Rober at the Signal Iduna Park.
"The current situation is that there won't be a transfer. His financial demands are not feasible and we haven't received the positive signal that we were looking for that he really wants to join BVB," he said.
Meanwhile, Dortmund sport director Michael Zorc has revealed that Matthew Amoah could be set to leave the club.
The Ghanaian international has been a disappointment since arriving from Vitesse Arnhem a year ago and Zorc told the German press on Thursday that he was involved in discussions with several unnamed clubs with regard to Amoah's future.
