Neven Subotic's agent has rejected reports linking the defender with a move to Chelsea or Arsenal.

Defender staying put at Dortmund

Neven Subotic's agent has rejected reports linking the Borussia Dortmund defender with a move to Chelsea or Arsenal in January. Reports have suggested the Blues have targeted a move for the Serbia international in the January transfer window to help solve their defensive problems. The Premier League champions are struggling at centre-back with John Terry and Alex both sidelined with injuries. Alex is facing two months out as he requires knee surgery, while the club are yet to find out the full extent of John Terry's nerve problem in his leg. Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the highly-rated stopper with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger thought to be a big admirer.

Rumours

Wenger is believed to be keen on bolstering his defence with doubts surrounding the long-term fitness of Thomas Vermaelen. Subotic is regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe and has been linked with many of Europe's top clubs over the last few years. The 21-year-old is enjoying a fine season with Dortmund, helping them to the top of the Bundesliga and the player's agent, Steve Kelly, insists there is no chance of him leaving in January and that Subotic is happy in Germany. "I am aware of the latest rumours linking Neven with a move to England, but I can categorically rule out Neven leaving Dortmund in January," Kelly told skysports.com. "Neven is happy at Dortmund and he is focused on helping them to stay at the top of the Bundesliga."
