Meier has already been at the club for nearly a decade but there had been speculation that he could be on the move after reportedly attracting attention from elsewhere with his recent performances.
However, the 31-year-old has now put pen to paper on a new long-term contract and Frankfurt are delighted to have secured his services.
Confirming the news on the club's official website, general manager Bruno Hubner said: "Signing a new deal with Alex we have put out a first signal regarding the future of this club.
"He is a very important player and has emerged as a key figure of Eintracht Frankfurt throughout the years.
"We are happy to see Alexander Meier remain at our club also in those years to come."
Meier also expressed his delight at signing a new deal and declared that he loved the club too much to consider a move away.
"Eintracht Frankfurt always was my first choice," he said.
"I decided to sign a contract extension for three years even though I have had different options available to me. It was a matter of the heart in the very end."
