Arminia Bielefeld have parted company with veteran coach Joerg Berger after just one match following the club's relegation from the Bundesliga.
Bielefeld only appointed Berger for their final game after firing Michael Frontzeck. The club hoped to benefit from his record of previously having saved Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt and Cologne from the drop.
However, Bielefeld could only manage a 2-2 draw at home against Hannover on Saturday and were relegated, finishing bottom of the pile as the battle went down to the wire.
A statement from the club issued on Sunday said that club officials and the 64-year-old Berger decided after the season's final match "not to go into the new season together".
Bielefeld are yet to name a permanent successor as the club look to reshuffle under new guidance in a bid to return to the top flight again next season.
