A 2-1 win for Bremen in driving rain at the Weser Stadion took Schaaf's men above their opponents, but Tuchel said the outcome did not reflect the match.
"Our performance was okay, but the result is a joke," he said.
"We were better - we were better in every area and we had the biggest chances."
Schaaf saw a different game, though, and felt his side's recent revival deserved to continue.
Bremen have now won two of their last three games, drawing the other, to move back into contention for a place in Europe next season.
"He can have his opinion and he is entitled to express it," Schaaf told Sky television.
"My team did a lot of things right and we played attacking football, but we unfortunately did not reward ourselves for the chances we had.
"What he have to eradicate is that we are giving our opponents too many chances."
