Foals issue striker denial

Gladbach have denied reports that Stuttgart are looking to sign Vaclav Sverkos.

Borussia Monchengladbach supremo Peter Pander has denied reports that VfB Stuttgart are looking to sign Vaclav Sverkos.

New VfB coach Giovanni Trapattoni is reportedly ready to make a move for the Czech striker to fill the gap left by Kevin Kuranyi's move to Schalke, but Pander says he has not heard anything from the Swabians.

"I can't speak for VfB Stuttgart, but the fact is we haven't had any enquiries about Sverkos," he said.

Pander also confirmed that unhappy Gladbach duo Marek Heinz and Ivo Ulich still feature in Foals' coach Horst Koppel's plans for the coming season.

"We intend to have them both here," he added.
