Oliver Neuville has pledged his future to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Germany international striker Oliver Neuville has pledged his future to the Bundesliga's bottom team Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 33-year-old put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract extension on Thursday, committing himself to the club until June 2009.
Ç£I feel very much at home at Gladbach,Ç¥ Neuville told the Foals' official website.
Ç£I'm sure we won't get relegated, but if it should happen then it's a matter of principle for me to help Borussia get back out of the second division as soon as possible.Ç¥
Gladbach sport director Christian Ziege expressed his delight at Neuville's decision, saying: ǣOliver will play an important role in our plans for next season.
Ç£It is hard to replace a player like him and I'm extremely pleased that he has made his decision to stay at Borussia.Ç¥
The forward has missed large parts of the season due to injuries and looks set to return to action for the first team this year when the Foals entertain fellow strugglers Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Neuville, who was born in Switzerland but holds a German passport due to his father, started his Bundesliga career with Hansa Rostock and spent five years with Bayer Leverkusen before moving to the Borussia-Park in 2004.
