Aston Villa defender Leandro Bacuna says he is open to returning to his homeland to join Ajax or PSV Eindhoven in the next two years.

Bacuna arrived from Dutch side Groningen in 2013 and has since gone on to make 92 appearances for relegation-threatened Villa.

The 24-year-old did not discount the possibility of staying at Aston Villa next term but admitted he sees his long-term future away from Villa Park.

"Within the next two years, I try to make my next step," Bacuna told Dutch broadcaster NOS.

"What it's going to be, I do not know at this time. But I want to grow in two years. It does not necessarily have to be in England."

Asked whether he would consider a return to the Dutch Eredivisie, the Curacao international said: "That would just be Ajax or PSV, I think. They play Champions League football almost every year.

"If I have a chance to go there then why not?"
