Eric Botteghin struck a late winner as Feyenoord rode their luck to maintain their perfect start to the new Eredivisie season with a 1-0 win at reigning champions PSV Eindhoven.

The Brazilian defender seized on a rare chance for the visitors to turn and fire past PSV keeper Jeroen Zoet in the 82nd minute of a game the hosts had largely dominated.

Feyenoord keeper Brad Jones was on top form to keep out a series of efforts from Gaston Pereiro, Luciano Narsingh, Davy Propper and Luuk de Jong.

Ajax continued to build momentum as they shrugged off their midweek Europa League exertions in Greece to grab a fourth straight win, 2-0 at mid-table Heracles.

It took Peter Bosz's men some time to break through a resolute home defence, with Davy Klassen finally putting his side in front with 66 minutes on the clock.
