PSV prevail in seven-goal thriller

PSV Eindhoven picked up their first win of the Eredivisie season with a thrilling victory over Ajax. PSV Eindhoven started the day in the bottom half of the table after drawing their opening two games of the campaign, while Ajax had claimed a maximum six points. Ajax made the perfect start as they took the lead through Luis Suarez after just one minute, but PSV stormed back to prevail 4-3. Balazs Dzsudzsak made it 1-1 in the 37th minute but Suarez grabbed his second of the afternoon moments later to restore Ajax's advantage. Otman Bakkal equalised five minutes into the second period and Dzsudzsak struck again to put PSV ahead for the first time. Urby Emanuelson levelled for Ajax with more than half an hour still to play, but Bakkal netted on 74 minutes to clinch the victory for PSV. Feyenoord moved level on seven points with FC Twente thanks to a 1-0 success at previously unbeaten Heracles Almelo. A hard-fought contest was decided by Jon Dahl Tomasson's solitary goal on 71 minutes. Utrecht missed the chance to go top as they played out a 2-2 draw with VVV Venlo, and are now behind Twente and Feyenoord on goal difference. Sandro Calabro fired VVV in front after three minutes but Utrecht hit back to lead 2-1 courtesy of a Dries Mertens double. VVV were not to be denied and Keisuke Honda salvaged a point with a 77th minute leveller. NAC Breda also remain unbeaten following a 2-1 victory away to Groningen. Edwin de Graaf opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Kees Kwakman added a second just after the interval, and NAC held on after Koen van de Laak had pulled one back for Groningen. Mads Junker was the star of the show for Roda JC as they overcame NEC Nijmegen 1-0.
