Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have announced the signing of Ricky van Wolfswinkel from FC Utrecht.
The 22-year-old was linked with Liverpool and Newcastle last summer, but he has signed a five-year contract with Sporting.
Van Wolfswinkel successfully passed a medical on Friday afternoon and will now be officially unveiled.
It has been speculated in the Dutch media that Sporting have paid a fee in the region of €6million (£5.3m).
The Holland international scored 15 goals for Utrecht this season having signed from Vitesse Arnhem two years ago.
