The new home of European football launches with Real Madrid’s contest against Sevilla at the Cardiff City Stadium and former Holland ace De Boer, who lifted the 1995 Super Cup with Ajax, will be on hand to dissect the action.

He’ll be joined in the Welsh capital by Sky Sports expert Graeme Souness and newly-appointed QPR coach Glenn Hoddle, for the showpiece contest between Champions League holders Real Madrid and Europa League titlists Sevilla. Our coverage begins at 6pm.

Live UEFA Super Cup

Sky Sports 5 will show up to 600 live European football matches this season – all available at no extra cost for Sky Sports customers – including up to three games a week from Eredivisie. As a five-time winner of Holland’s top division, De Boer is perfectly placed to discuss the title contenders in that league.

He will also have his say on La Liga, which he won with Barcelona in 1998-99, and the Champions League, a crown he claimed in 1995 with Ajax.

Sky Sports 5 viewers will also be able to follow qualifying for Euro 2016 on the channel, with all 53 nations televised; every Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland qualifier will be exclusively live, with highlights and analysis of England’s games also available.

Sky Sports 5 is free of charge to both new and existing Sky Sports subscribers who activate the channel by visiting sky.com/skysports5, on the red button or by calling Sky.
