Dutch international Mark van Bommel inspired the victory netting four in the rout, while Mateja Kezman grabbed two goals.
PSV captain van Bommel broke the deadlock on 32 minutes and he doubled the lead a minute before the break.
Kezman added a third right on the stroke of half time and van Bommel completed his hat-trick two minutes after the restart.
Serbian ace Kezman netted his second and his side's fifth on 70 minutes and Arjen Robben got in on the act netting the sixth five minutes from the end.
Van Bommel completed the rout with his fourth of an amazing night in stoppage time to leave PSV nine points clear of Ajax as they close in on the title.
NAC Breda moved into sixth spot with an impressive 2-0 win over Utrecht.
Orlando Engelaar opened the scoring for the hosts on 31 minutes and Kevin Bobson wrapped up the win with the second 13 minutes from time.
FC Zwolle earned a precious point in their battle to avoid the drop with a goalless draw at FC Twente.
Robin Nelisse's last-gasp goal gave AZ Alkmaar a thrilling 3-2 win over Willem II.
Tarik Sektioui fired Willem in front after 16 minutes, but Tim de Cler replied for the hosts on 64 minutes.
Jos van Nieuwstadt restored the visitors lead 15 minutes from time, but AZ hit two minutes later through Ali Elkhattabi to earn a point.
The game looked set to end all-square until Nelisse popped up with the winner in the final minute
