AZ to snub offers

AZ Alkmaar say Denny Landzaat and Kenneth Perez will not be sold in January.

AZ Alkmaar have warned Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord not to waste their time bidding for Denny Landzaat and Kenneth Perez.

Landzaat's performances in the last couple of seasons have led to regular international recognition, while Ajax have been monitoring his situation for some time.

Ajax coach Ronald Koeman said over the weekend that he would like to bring Landzaat back to Amsterdam, which has prompted suggestions that a bid could be lodged in January, but AZ have insisted that any approach will be given short shrift.

A similar comment applies to Perez, who has been attracting interest from Feyenoord and Eredivisie leaders PSV.

"At AZ nobody will be sold," AZ technical director Martin van Geel told Voetbal International. "Our minimum aim is to consolidate what we have.

"I have read the reports that Ajax want Denny Landzaat and I hear that PSV have an interest in Kenneth Perez.

"Apart from the fact that nobody has made any official contact, I can stop everyone dreaming.

"AZ will not be doing any business in January, so no-one will be sold.

"Therefore Feyenoord, PSV and Ajax can save themselves the effort.

"I dare even to state that we will not sell players at the end of the season.

"It would take an enormous club to come in and I am not thinking of Ajax or PSV, but Manchester United or Arsenal."
