The Moroccan has a contract until 2007, but he is not happy playing a substitute role.
"I'm not a first team regular, I want to play," he told Voetbal International.
"If it's up to me I will leave next summer. AZ understood my point of view and have promised to co-operate to a transfer. In the mean time there are already interested clubs, both home and foreign clubs."
Meanwhile, Martin Haar has been confirmed as the club's new assistant coach.
Haar, 52, will work with Co Adriaanse until the summer - when Louis van Gaal will come in.
"I'm very happy with it," Haar told the club's website.
"I know the club very well and I find it fantastic to work with the boys."
